American Gift?

I need some help coming up with an American gift for William (my boyfriends) father who is going to be paying for all my food and housing and everything I need in Sweden. I leave in 3 weeks so if I order online I need to do it ASAP.

What is an "American" gift that you would give somebody from another country (oh say like Sweden) as a thank you for their hospitality?

Being from Washington and all I have been looking on at the Made in Washington store website since his father is a big fisherman and outdoors person. Any other ideas come to mind???

If he's a big fisherman does he like to eat the fish he catches?? I would take him some salmon from alaska--you know how it's all packaged all nice ---i think you can get it pretty much anywhere. Or some cool fishing lures---ask Darren about what to get. OR...a t-shirt that says " I heart NYC!" That's always a hit!

Salmon, like Nalani says. Mt. St. Helens ash. A bucket of trans fat. A range rover.

Some jello, people magazine and monopoly (the limited version, we're not cheap here)

Or maybe something on the churchy side, like those little statues that have special meanings to them.

Nothing says "American" more than a gift card to WalMart (make sure it has a picture of Old Glory).
