Viva Las Vegas

See if you recognize any of these things:

Yup... VEGAS!!! I finally got to have my first Vegas experience! It was Monday afternoon and it was a beautiful Spring Break day when I was sitting at work and realized I had the day off Tuesday and didn't have to be to work until 4pm on Wednesday. I called my friends and my boyfriend and told them, "I'm going to Vegas in 15 minutes, are you coming with!?!?!?" Literally 30 minutes later I was with the best people ever and started the 7 hour drive to Vegas! About 5 hours later, when the excitement wore off and we had listened to all the CD's we loved... I was totally regretting my decision. In Mesquite I was ready to stop... I had NO idea WHAT I was doing. Then ... I noticed the skyline was brighter and brighter and that's when I realized those were the Vegas lights. Yes I was laughed at as I tried to sit taller in my seat trying to see over the mountains. Then.... I saw it...

Pretty much screamed all the way from the outskirts of Vegas and all the way onto the Vegas strip. We made a reservation in St. George for a $50 room at the Tropicana. We thought we had scored then, staying on the strip for $50. It totally gets better.... keep reading! EEK!!! The lady checking us into the rooms says, "You know since you are only here for one night, I am going to put in our a best suite." My jaw dropped. Yeah pretty much the room was amazing on the 23rd floor (top floor). For $50 we got a bar, living room, dining room, separate bedroom with a king size bed and sitting area and jacuzzi hot tub... go around a corner and there is a huge walk in shower, a sauna, a walk in closet and a his/her mirror with another huge room with a toilet. That toilet room is great because when you pee it echo's so loud all of Vegas can hear you using the restroom!

It was so wonderful and a great escape. When we drove back we drove through Zions National Park ... WOW.

And in the sad note... Grandpa... I was sitting here at the desk at work when I got the call from Amanda. After I hung up trying to process everything this lady comes up to show me her stupid shamrock she was wearing. I wanted to look at her and say "Listen lady your crazy and I don't care about your stupid Shamrock! My Indian speaking Grandpa just died ok!" Haha I figured I still wanted a job so I better just smile and pretend I care. :o) Yes Grandpa had me FULLY convinced he spoke Indian... let me tell you my sheer disappointment when I found out he was speaking memorized jibborish!!!!

Great LV photos!! Sin City does have some incredible lighting! You really lucked out hotel-wise!! Of course now you've had a taste of the fancy life, so it will be difficult to settle for Super 8!!

Amelia - I am headed there this weekend to hang out with my Dad. Isn't it just the coolest place ever! Glad you're having such a great time.

You know..we could have a family reunion there! There is a temple there so after we experienced "sin city" we could atone by going to the temple.
